NORTEK APPOINTS CONTROLLER
PROVIDENCE, RI, July 21, 2003 - Nortek, Inc. ("Nortek"), today announced the appointment of Theodore F. Martin as Vice President, Controller. Mr. Martin had been serving as Assistant Controller. In his position, Mr. Martin will have overall corporate responsibility for the accounting and financial reporting functions for Nortek and its subsidiaries.
In announcing the appointment, Richard L. Bready, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are pleased to announce Ted Martin's promotion. His experience provides him with a solid understanding of our various operations and the financial aspects of our business."
Mr. Martin, joined Nortek in 1996 and has over 15 years experience in various positions in financial, accounting and tax management. Prior to joining Nortek, Mr. Martin served as Controller of Gen Rad, Inc. and worked for several years with major international accounting firms in the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Martin, a Certified Public Accountant, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from Boston College, School of Management in 1984 majoring in Accounting and Computer Science.
