NORTEK TO DONATE $50,000 TO ASSIST FAMILIES OF FIRE VICTIMS

PROVIDENCE, RI, February 21, 2003 - Nortek Holdings, Inc., a leading international designer, manufacturer and marketer of building products, today announced it would donate $50,000 to assist the families of those who lost loved ones in Thursday night's devastating nightclub fire in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The fire has already claimed 96 lives.

Richard L. Bready, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said, "While no amount of money can replace the lives lost, we want to extend our deepest sympathies and support to the affected families. We encourage all the citizens of Rhode Island, the region, and beyond to join us in doing whatever they can to extend a helping hand."
